The Redmi Note 7 Pro flaunts an all-new Aura design with 2.5D curved glass design on both the front and the back along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and the back. For display, the Note 7 sports a 6.3-inch Dot Notch FHD+ display with a 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution at 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It uses an LTPS in-cell screen that uses less power and generates less heat, which allows it to be extended up to the edges across the screen. It also gets additional features like the Sunlight Display and Reading Mode. It retains the audio jack and the IR blaster, and now comes with USB Type-C. The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in three colors – Neptune Blue, Nebula Red and Space Black.
Performance
For performance, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset, based on Kryo 460 and 11nm FinFET process), along with an Adreno 612 GPU (with 2x Gold Cortex Cores). It also combines with the Qualcomm Spectra ISP and Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP to improve the performance and optics. Talking about other specifications, the device comes with a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card), runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie, and a massive 4000mAh battery with QuickCharge 4.0 support to power it all, although it backs in the usual 10W charger in the box.
Camera
In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a dual camera setup on the rear, aligned vertically, with a 48MP primary (f/1.79) + 5MP depth-sensing on the rear. The 48MP sensor is a Sony IMX 586 sensor that is a 1.2-inch stacked CMOS sensor, touted to be the highest resolution sensor ever on a smartphone. The company claims that the Sony sensor is 25% larger than the iPhone XS Max. On the front, the device sports a 13MP AI camera for selfies, with AI portrait mode, AI scene detection, Face Unlock, and Studio Lighting.
The company says, the picture size of a 48MP camera shot exceeds 15MB, which is why the default settings on the camera are set to Pro mode to reduces of the image to a 12MP equivalent and reduce its size. For those who want the true 48MP image, can do by going into camera settings and enabling the option there. To improve night photography on the device, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a steady handheld night photography, based on Xiaomi’s AI algorithm. Alongside this, the camera also comes with AI scene detection and AI portrait 2.0 to enhance the overall picture quality.
Redmi Note 7 Pro Pricing and Availability
The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in three different colors: two colors with gradient finish – Neptune Blue and Nebula Red, and one with a classic finish – Space Black. Xiaomi has priced the Redmi Note 7 Pro ar Rs 13,999 for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and Rs 16,999 for 6GB/128GB variant. It goes on sale on 13th March at 12 noon on Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home stores.
