The ThinkBook range starts at Rs 31,000 and goes all the way up to Rs 82,000. We got the high-end variant for review and well, while the design was minimalistic – just a simple “Lenovo” on one corner of the silver-gray (“mineral gray” is the official term) and ThinkBook almost diagonally opposite it....

The secondary display on the LG V20 has undoubtedly been its unique feature. The display let users access shortcuts and notifications on the strip of the display. The V30 is expected to come with a new floating display though it’s not clear yet on what aspect of the display will be changed. In all likelihood, the display will be redesigned to enable better interaction with notifications and shortcuts. LG further claims that the FullVision display will allow for 20 to 50 percent reduction in the upper and lower bezels as opposed to its predecessor....

Dual cameras were introduced a while ago but in 2016 the technology caught on like wildfire. Everyone started talking about dual cameras after a number of brands stacked them on the back of their smartphones including companies like Apple, Huawei, LG and Honor. And one feature which became a rage after Apple introduced dual cameras was the ability of the smartphone’s camera to create a bokeh effect in the user’s pictures....

The Indian government’s HRD ministry had teamed up with Canada based Datawind Technologies to manufacture 1 million units of Aakash tablets priced at Rs.2250 ($43). During the pilot run, Datawind was supposed to provide the HRD ministry with 1 lakh Aakash units, out of which they had delivered just 30,000 units. Though the tablet specs looked good on paper, with Android 2.2 OS, 366 MHz processor, 2100mAh battery & two USB ports, in reality the tablet was met with a lot of criticisms concerning its poor build quality and user experience....

The Meizu X8 features a 6.2-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1080p and 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 710 chipset, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage and a 3210mAh battery that is compatible with quick charging. As for the cameras, there are two on the back. One is a regular 12-megapixel f/1.9 lens and another is a secondary 5-megapixel snapper for depth-sensing....

This is not to say that the Mi brand has been totally absent from the Indian market. Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge comes with a new Chakra JavaScript engine and Microsoft informs that it has ‘made a lot of performance advances’, which is now allegedly loading faster than any other major browser currently out there – Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft’s own Internet Explorer. The company wanted to make JavaScript load faster, and now it claims that the Chakra JavaScript engine is faster than in any other 64-bit browser currently on the market....

And now Microsoft seems got itself back into Selfiestan (thank you for that term, Gionee – really!) with another new app that seems targeted at the selfie-snapping crowd – Sprinkles (or “Sprinkles – Camera With Fun Ideas,” to give it its full designation), which is currently iOS-only. Yes, we said “seems” because Microsoft itself has not said that the app is meant for just selfies but in the age of Snapchat and the like, we see this being very popular in the “go snap yourself” segment....

Momentum for Chrome will give new powers to your New Page tab in Chrome, if I can put it that way. The extension replaces your new tab page in Chrome with what it call a ‘personal dashboard’ featuring tasks, weather, and inspiration. After you install it, you will be asked to signup with your email and then you will start setting up the New Page tab. You will be able to set your focus for the day and every time you will open a new tab, it will remind you of what you want to achieve in that day....

Among the shared specs, the Motorola P30 Note has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, 4GB or 6GB RAM, while the storage capacity is 64GB. There is a microSD slot available, increasing capacity to 128GB. The screen has a 6.2-inch LCD panel and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9, and yes, there is a notch. The resolution is 2246 x 1080 pixels. There are 16 + 5 MP dual cameras on the back, with the primary sensor coming with an f/1....

Alongside its Moto Z2 Play, the Lenovo backed company debuted a new camera mod. The 360-degree camera Moto Mod will support all Moto Z series of devices. It was in fact, announced a month back at an event in Ghana. Motorola has revealed that the camera mod will cost a $299 and will be available for sale starting August 10. The new 360-degree camera Moto Mod is essentially aimed at live streaming enthusiasts....

Until now, Netflix offered three plans in India: Basic – for Rs 500 per month, Standard – for Rs 650 per month, Premium – for Rs 800 per month. With the Basic plan, Netflix restricts access to HD and Ultra HD content and allows users to view content on only one screen at a time. On the other hand, with the Standard plan, it allows users to enjoy content in HD, on two screens at the same time....

The major new feature of Opera 29 FINAL is the ability to browse across a range of devices and be able to sync tabs between mobile and desktop platforms. Furthermore, version 29 also comes with support for customizable keyboard shortcuts and it also brings a new indicator tool to show which browser tab audio is being played from. This last is particularly useful for those moments when you have a lot of tabs and you just can’t find where the sound is coming from....

For starters, the device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 carrying the model number MSM8937. The SoC will sport a total of eight cores clocked at 1.40 GHz based on the ARM Cortex-A53 architecture. Additionally, the phone will be backed up by 3GB of RAM and feature Google’s latest Android Nougat 7.0. The single-core Geekbench score is marked at 682 and for multi-core, 2745. In comparison, Xiaomi’s 3S Prime which is powered by the same processor has been rated at around 627 in the single-core Geekbench test....

The phone is amongst the first devices to run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Sadly, the X7 still runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, but knowing HMD, it should soon be upgraded to Android 9 Pie. The primary camera on the rear is a 12MP Sony IMX 363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS support with ZEISS optics with a secondary 13MP sensor for depth sensing....

Microsoft is positioning the new OneDrive naming as the one place for documents, photos, and other content that is seamlessly connected across all the devices you use. SkyDrive and SkyDrive Pro will be rebranded to OneDrive and OneDrive for Business respectively. In a blog post, General Manager, Consumer Apps & Services, Ryan Gavin admits that “Changing the name of a product as loved as SkyDrive wasn’t easy”. He says “We are excited about what is to come, and can’t wait to share more....

With the existing update cycle of OnePlus, the company introduces two new smartphones each year. However, that is soon going to change this time around as the company is expected to introduce a 5G-enabled smartphone along with a few other variants including the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The information for the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro comes from a renowned leaker, Ishan Agarwal, on Twitter. According to one of his recent tweets, the OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to feature a Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, USB 3....
